For over 25 years, Certified Inspections, Inc. has been the area’s #1 rated company for mold testing, mold inspections, mold removal plans and building inspections. We offer friendly, reasonably priced, rapid response throughout the Tri-State area including Putnam Valley.
Putnam Valley is called “The Gateway to the Country,” and indeed it is. Just north over the border from Westchester County, it has a far more rural, laid-back vibe with abundant forests, lakes, and streams, and fewer houses. It is said that in Putnam Valley, you are either on a hill or in a valley. You don’t see much flat land around here! The amazing thing about it is that although you get the sense you are in a very rural environment like somewhere near the Canadian border, you can drive to Manhattan in only one hour. These are the driving forces that compelled me to move here.

Being in the country has its charms, but it also has its detriments, such as a proliferation of ticks, mosquitos, fallen trees, run-ins with wildlife, and since there are so many lakes and streams and vegetation causing moisture in the air, mold can be a problem. What many people aren’t aware of is that mold doesn’t have to be seen to be present in high quantities. Spores can grow in moist air and since they are lighter than air, they can float around and when you breathe them in, you can get sick. They can also infect your furniture, clothing and other household contents.
Mold can cause many serious health problems like breathing difficulties, coughs, headaches, rashes, flu-like symptoms, asthma, emphysema, memory loss, and cancer. Sometimes mold has a musty odor, but not all musty odors are mold. Sometimes mold has no smell at all. You are especially at risk if you have ever had water get in the basement or if any discoloration is seen in the attic, or if you’ve ever had a plumbing problem like a leaking pipe. And sometimes what you see that you assume is mold is actually not mold at all. How can you know?

Putnam Valley Mold Testing Process

We will perform a mold inspections which consists of taking mold samples – both air samples and swab samples and sending them to a lab. Upon completion, we will return to perform a clearance test to make sure the mold levels have been reduced to a safe level. We will also tell you things to do so the mold will never return

Great Advice!
“I had an unknown plumbing issue in my office that was going on for quite some time and caused some water damage on my flooring. Saved Us Thousands!
“When we were selling our house, the buyer’s home inspector told us we had a bad mold problem in the attic, but he never did any testing. We called Certified Inspections and they took several samples and found that the black stuff on the wood wasn’t even mold. They saved us thousands of dollars in cleaning costs and the deal went through. Thank you to Mark and Certified Inspections!!”

Mark is Amazing!
“Mark answers the calls and is so easy to reach. He was so informative, it was amazing. After having 2 mold tests done with different companies, we contacted Certified Inspections for an objective third party opinion Mark stayed on the phone with us for more than 30 minutes thoroughly going over everything and explaining what we should be concerned about. Thank you so much for being so helpful and kind during this time, and resolving our problem once and for all!”

Highly Recommend!
“When we thought we had mold because our kids were getting sick all the time, we called Certified Inspections. Mark inspected our house from top to bottom and took a lot of time to explain everything to us in detail, including the fact that testing is required before remediation can be done, so that there is no conflict of interest, and so unnecessary work wouldn’t get done, or get done the wrong way. I greatly admire his kindness, honesty, and integrity. After he finished, we were confident we would never have another mold problem again. I highly recommend working with this company if you want the job done right by someone you can trust.”

Huge Help!
“I was worried that my recent health issues were caused by mold so I called the folks at Certified Inspections who were recommended to me by my friend. They spent a long time on the phone with me asking me about my symptoms and various things about my house and workplace, and concluded that mold could not be a cause of my illness. They directed me to the proper specialist who diagnosed and treated me. I feel much better now and Certified never even charged me for the invaluable consultation!”

Mold Inspections Cold Spring, Mold Inspections Garrison and Mold Inspections Peekskill
Certified Inspections performs mold testing and mold assessments in the nearby river towns of Cold Spring, Garrison and Peekskill. Their proximity to the Hudson River causes many mold problems. Any house or building can develop a mold problem from a basement or roof leak or a plumbing leak, but buildings that are near a river have a great deal of ambient humid air entering into them that can cause mold, even if it isn’t seen. It can make you sick if you breathe it, so calling Certified Inspections for a mold inspection is of utmost importance for protecting the health of you and your family.
There are other environmental dangers in houses such as radon, polluted water, VOC’s, lead, asbestos, and failing septic systems. We test for all of these and more, and also do full structural home inspections whether you are purchasing a new home or commercial building, selling one, or whether you just want to have a safety inspection to know what dangers are lurking for your family.

Carmel Mold Testing
Carmel is a lovely area in central Putnam County filled with bountiful lakes such as Lake Carmel and West Branch Reservoir, and it houses the Putnam County government center and Putnam Hospital.
Because it is located in such a rural, lake-filled environment, mold is frequently found inside homes and buildings. This is because mold needs moisture to grow and when there are any basements with seepage, roof leaks, plumbing leaks or even humid air inside the house, a mold problem may exist. Mold can contribute to breathing problems, headaches, flulike symptoms, asthma, emphysema, cancer and memory loss.
Certified Inspections Inc. provides prompt mold inspections with detailed reports. We have a machine to take air samples as well as swab samples and we can let you know if you have any unsafe levels of mold in your home and tell you exactly how to eradicate it and keep it from returning. We also do home inspections, septic dye tests, radon tests and many other environmental tests.
Mold Testing Brewster
Brewster, in the town of Southeast, is a vibrant, growing area due to its access to the metro-north train station and the 684 freeway. It is close to Danbury, Carmel, North Salem and Mahopac and has a plethora of shopping and restaurants in addition to nearby nature.
Making sure your house is safe is our major concern. We at Certified Inspections Inc. are a full service inspection and testing company that tests for mold, radon, other indoor air quality pollutants as well as structural inspections. We can safety inspect your house or business or inspect a property you plan to be purchasing.
Mold is especially a concern these days as doctors and scientists have determined that it can cause respiratory diseases such as asthma and emphysema, flulike symptoms, cancer and memory loss. Anywhere there is moisture – even humid air, is a cause for concern because it can provide a fertile atmosphere for mold to grow, and since it is invisible when airborne, it can hurt you even if you don’t see it. A mold assessment is a prudent way to safeguard your family’s health. We have machines that can collect air samples and the lab we send it to can determine whether you are breathing an unsafe amount of mold. If you are, we will report on how to thoroughly get rid of it and make sure it never returns.
Mahopac Mold Inspections
Mahopac is in many ways, the commercial center of Putnam County with miles of stores and restaurants situated on both sides of a long stretch of routes 6 and 6N. It is also very close to Carmel, Brewster, Somers, Yorktown, Jefferson Valley and Putnam Valley. Yet for all the shopping available on that northeast artery of Putnam County, Mahopac is perhaps best known for its large lake, Lake Mahopac, its prime recreational asset.
Given its countrified setting and proximity to Lake Mahopac, the moist environment lends itself to many mold problems. Mold requires moisture to grow and cause health problems in people. These may include respiratory problems, flulike symptoms, asthma, emphysema, and even cancer and memory loss.
Sometimes you detect an odor. This could mean mold is present, but not always. And sometimes you don’t smell anything yet the unseen mold in the air can make you sick. The only way to truly know is to have Certified Inspections come in and provide a mold assessment. We take air samples with a special machine, and also take swab samples if any possible mold is visible. Then we issue you a report and help you get rid of the mold for good if it comes back positive.
We also test for radon and other indoor air concerns, water pollutants, septic systems and full home inspections in order to keep your house safe, whether it is the house you are currently living in or one you are looking to purchase.
