Over the years, I’ve been called by many residents to perform home inspections for folks buying houses in the area, and also to do indoor air quality testing, especially Chappaqua mold testing. Home Inspections are obviously very critical because a house is generally the largest investment people make in their lives, and unknown repairs can end up costing the buyers thousands of dollars they were not prepared to spend. In addition, these repairs can end up severely inconveniencing the homeowner by having to move out and stay in a hotel or with relatives while construction is being performed. And unfortunately, some repairs can be generated by an even bigger cost – one’s health and well-being. Unforeseen dangers like loose stair railings, trees falling on houses, or carbon monoxide can cause physical harm to one’s family members.
Mold is a very common danger as well. I often find mold infestation in basements, attics, and bathrooms. Mold can cause many health problems such as coughing, runny nose, headaches, rashes, headaches, flu-like symptoms, asthma, emphysema, cancer, and memory loss. The Chappaqua Mold Inspection Process
If you are moving into a new home or just want a safety evaluation, or want to know what things need to be repaired in order to sell it, we perform full, comprehensive home inspections for you that tell you everything you need to know in easy to understand terms, all delineated in order of priority. If you suspect a mold problem, we do mold inspections, Chappaqua mold testing, and mold assessments by taking air and swab samples and sending them to a lab. We then issue a detailed report. If you do have a mold problem, we will write a treatment protocol (action plan) that tells the remediation contractor exactly what he must do in order to properly clean it. After it is cleaned, we will return to perform a clearance test to make sure the mold was successfully reduced to a safe level.
Remember, all mold needs to grow is moisture, and you don’t even need to see it for it to be present, so if you had any water leaks in the basement or attic, or any plumbing leaks, or smell an unpleasant odor, or if anyone has been getting sick an inordinate amount of time, you should call us for an assessment.
