Katonah Mold Inspections
A mold inspection is the only way to sure your home is safe. You may wonder if this applies to a home in which no visible mold is present. Unfortunately, mold does not have to be seen to be a problem because millions of spores, which are lighter than air can be floating around and all you need do is breathe them and they can go to work in your body. I recently took air samples in house belonging to a famous television writer and saw nothing to be alarmed about, however when the air samples returned from the lab, the mold levels were in the hundreds of thousands of spores! This could sicken a buffalo!
A mold inspection is now called a “mold assessment” in the state of New York, which passed a law designating it as such. It mandates that no contractor can render any judgment or do any work regarding mold until a licensed assessor such as my company, Certified Inspections, Inc. comes in to perform an assessment.
If we find a mold problem to be present, we will write a report that will tell the remediation contractor exactly what to do so that they don’t do too much that is not necessary or too little, They must follow our protocol (action plan) and when they have finished, we return to do a clearance test to certify that it is now safe. If it doesn’t pass, they must return to do more work on their own dime.
