Tarrytown and its companion river towns such as Irvington, Hastings and Dobbs Ferry, share a common concern: the fact that they are located in such close proximity to the Hudson River assures that the ambient moisture from the river will put them at greater risk of developing a mold problem.

Tarrytown Mold Testing
Mold requires three things to proliferate: moisture, a food source, and air. Obviously, we cannot deprive it of air because we also require it. For a food source, we are also unable to implement any prevention because mold feeds on wood, paper, and even dust on metal, concrete and plastic. That leaves moisture. Prevention can be somewhat controlled by dehumidifying the air in effect, conditioning the indoor environment. This type of prevention is needed in any location, but as previously mentioned, even more so in Tarrytown and the other river towns.
Since most folks have not already taken steps to condition their living space, there is a significant chance that they have a mold problem lurking in their homes or businesses. Mold has been shown to cause dangerous health problems ranging from breathing problems like asthma and emphysema, headaches, flulike symptoms, rashes, memory loss and cancer.
Trusted Clients:
Tarrytown Mold Inspection
The only way to find out the status of your indoor environment is to hire a licensed mold assessor such as Certified Inspections, Inc.
We will conduct a mold inspection which includes testing. The process is as follows: We come to your home or business, visually inspect all rooms and decide on a number of air samples and sometimes swab samples as well. After taking the samples, we submit them to a lab and when we get the results back a couple of days later, we will issue you a report that tells you if there’s anything to be concerned about. If there is, we will include a protocol (action plan) on how to remediate the mold and help you find a remediation company to do the work. They would have to follow our treatment plan so that it is done correctly, and after they finish, we return to inspect it again and take more samples to ascertain whether it was successfully cleaned. After that, we will issue you a certification.
Not only will the problem be gone, but we will also include corrective measures to take in order to keep the mold from returning. These measures are site-specific, but can include dehumidification, repairing roof and plumbing leaks, improving the roof ventilation, correcting the pitch of the gutters and cleaning them, extending downspout discharge farther away from the foundation, relocating fan ducts, basement waterproofing, and many other things. This will lead to a dryer, healthier environment for you and your family or employees as the case may be.

Great Advice!
“I had an unknown plumbing issue in my office that was going on for quite some time and caused some water damage on my flooring. Saved Us Thousands!
“When we were selling our house, the buyer’s home inspector told us we had a bad mold problem in the attic, but he never did any testing. We called Certified Inspections and they took several samples and found that the black stuff on the wood wasn’t even mold. They saved us thousands of dollars in cleaning costs and the deal went through. Thank you to Mark and Certified Inspections!!”

Mark is Amazing!
“Mark answers the calls and is so easy to reach. He was so informative, it was amazing. After having 2 mold tests done with different companies, we contacted Certified Inspections for an objective third party opinion Mark stayed on the phone with us for more than 30 minutes thoroughly going over everything and explaining what we should be concerned about. Thank you so much for being so helpful and kind during this time, and resolving our problem once and for all!”

Highly Recommend!
“When we thought we had mold because our kids were getting sick all the time, we called Certified Inspections. Mark inspected our house from top to bottom and took a lot of time to explain everything to us in detail, including the fact that testing is required before remediation can be done, so that there is no conflict of interest, and so unnecessary work wouldn’t get done, or get done the wrong way. I greatly admire his kindness, honesty, and integrity. After he finished, we were confident we would never have another mold problem again. I highly recommend working with this company if you want the job done right by someone you can trust.”

Huge Help!
“I was worried that my recent health issues were caused by mold so I called the folks at Certified Inspections who were recommended to me by my friend. They spent a long time on the phone with me asking me about my symptoms and various things about my house and workplace, and concluded that mold could not be a cause of my illness. They directed me to the proper specialist who diagnosed and treated me. I feel much better now and Certified never even charged me for the invaluable consultation!”
